FERM WALLPAPERS

Wednesday, April 13th, 2011

Wouldn’t these Ferm Living wallpapers look amazing in a nursery? Super sweet and not too babyish.

I didn’t get too into decorating Lou’s room before she was born. I frankly found the idea of “doing the nursery” kind of cheesy. Now that she’s here, though, I quite like hanging special things in there, making curtains, etc. Time to wallpaper?

Sorbet Palette

This interior, by Tas-ka makes me smile. The palette is so child-like, it’s a little disorienting. In photos, it almost looks like a dollhouse.

Brie Harrison

I’m more than a little obsessed with Brie Harrison‘s prints. Ah-mazingly folksy and modern at the same time. These would work really well with our black & white print sofa pillows…

AT LAST

Friday, March 4th, 2011

Never thought I’d be so excited about a doorstop. But the little stacks of cardboard Willy rigs to keep some of the doors open in our old, Brooklyn building are just not that classy. And now Lou is starting to want to open and shut doors and it would be nice to have something to keep her little fingers from being slammed in one of them. These doorstops by Thorsten Van Elten look great and are $14. Win win.

BECAUSE I HAVE A BLACK THUMB

Sunday, February 27th, 2011

I was poking around online trying to find a dining table and chairs for our apartment. It’s time. We’re starting to think about selling our place, and that seems like a good excuse to finish things up around here. You know, finish decorating to sell. That’s a completely backwards logic, isn’t it?

I came across this table & chairs set from Dutch designer Moooi (chair pictured). It brings a serious smile to my face. And since I can’t keep a damn plant alive, I ought get some pretty in my life somehow…

I think we’re going for some black Thonet bentwood chairs and a simple white marble table, but perhaps this is a reminder to adorn my set with some pretty flowers once and again.
