I didn’t get too into decorating Lou’s room before she was born. I frankly found the idea of “doing the nursery” kind of cheesy. Now that she’s here, though, I quite like hanging special things in there, making curtains, etc. Time to wallpaper?

I thought I’d share a few photos from Grub Street of my friend Justin’s new bar / music venue on Manhattan Ave in Greenpoint, designed by my pal, Matt Maddy. I lived a few blocks from there for my first 5 years in New York, and man, would I have loved if this place was in existence.
The interior has Matt’s signature rough hewn paired with high-polish aesthetic. The raddest part is the exterior: he painted the cinder block exterior black and the entrance is a black fire door. Rockin.
